This is my 11th year of teaching Kindergarten, yet it is, by all means, the most challenging of them all. Moving from working closely with the little ones, to thinking of alternatives to staying connected through Distance Learning is quite difficult. However, as a team, we have come together and always find ways of communication with our students.
Distance Learning has its pros and cons. It doesn’t make up for the actual interaction with children in class, yet it has made us think of creative methods to deliver lessons and keep children engaged. Moreover, it has united us all as a community, whose members are working hand in hand to achieve one goal; keep our students safe.
I am working consistently with the parents of my children, who are being flexible and understanding of the current situation. They are supportive and appreciative of everything that we do on a daily basis. Parents are very involved; children are doing their best by submitting work on Class Dojo and enjoying our Live Sessions.
I am happy that children are evolving and making the most out of this tough time. Also, I highly appreciate that parents are taking the time to share their children’s special moments with me on a daily basis. It brightens up my day but I do miss teaching my students in person I would like to assure the parents that we are here to support them in this distance learning journey.
Miss Shaymaa.
