WE ARE PART OT THE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY 

Nibras International School has received the prestigious National Honor Society (NHS) affiliate status, based on the school’s commitment to student and community affairs.

The NHS membership is invitation-only and a specific honor, that only a few schools in the UAE have been invited to be a part of. This internationally recognized organization is established to recognize outstanding high school students and celebrate their achievements.

Nibras affiliation is a confirmation of students’ academic accomplishments, as well as community engagement. The NHS gives students exclusive resources that support their long-term goals. Students develop through active involvement in school activities and community service – they volunteer and make serving within their community a priority.

High school students who are selected to join the National Honor Society (NHS) will gain access to academic scholarships, college admissions support, and leadership cultivation. One of the main core values that guide members of the NHS is community service and volunteering. Through their NHS membership, our students will be able to complete service projects both as a chapter and individually, attend leadership conferences, learn from quality leaders in various fields, and create a professional portfolio.

The NHS elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921, when the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) officially established the NHS.

Four main purposes that guide members of The NHS:

Everyday Scholarship is a commitment to learning and growing on an academic path. Honor Society students are encouraged to make the most of the educational opportunities and seek building on knowledge, skills, and talents through new experiences.

Everyday Service is a commitment to engaging in meaningful voluntary service and a desire to help others. Honor Society students say that service activities are among their most rewarding experiences in the program.

Everyday Leadership is a commitment to carrying yourself with dignity and taking responsibility for your actions and participation. It means taking ownership of your pathway, not just being a public speaker or soccer captain.

Everyday Character is a commitment to ethical decision-making that demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability. Honor Society students show good and noble character like valuing diversity, perseverance, respect, integrity, honesty, sacrifice, etc.

More than one million students worldwide participate in the NHS, so Nibras students will have the opportunity to network with other student members from the United States, Canada, and international American schools worldwide. With National Honor Society affiliation, our students have various opportunities to grow into a strong community and global leaders.
