Principal

Dr. Jay B. Teston joined Nibras International School as the Principal in 2020 upon the retirement of his predecessor.

Dr. Jay will apply over 25 years of experience in the USA, UK and China, he has acquired valuable experience as an International School Director, Principal and as a member of several accrediting teams in the Asia-Pacific region to bring Nibras to new heights.

Dr. Jay has exceptional proficiency in being an educator, accreditor, researcher and leader. He is passionate about using academic rigor through effective teaching practices that yield both amazing and exemplary results.

Dr. Jay holds a Doctor of Education degree from The University of Sarasota in Florida, National Principal Certification from Fordham University in New York and a Diploma in International School Governance and Sustainability from the European Council of International Schools in London, UK.

Althea grew up in South Africa before relocating to Muscat, Oman with her family and then moving to Dubai in 2002. Althea studied Human Resources Management which has given her invaluable administrative and recruitment experience. Althea then went on to complete her Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) through the University of Sunderland followed by a Master’s in Education from Murdoch University.

Althea is an experienced educator with more than 13 years in international education. Althea is passionate about a student-centered learning environment where students use hands-on, real life learning experiences to develop their communication and thinking skills along with learning through inquiry, problem solving and developing a student’s independent learning skills as key focus areas.

Althea has held various leadership roles within primary education and as a passionate educator, has led various authorization and evaluation processes within the UAE. She has been a part of the development of teachers and middle leaders alike and has implemented various systems to ensure the smooth running of a primary school. Althea has worked collaboratively with the school community; namely students, parents and teachers alike to foster and develop a high quality education that meets the needs of all students.

Althea enjoys walking, going to the gym, travelling and spending time with her family.

Daspo Yiappos is the Head of Teaching & Learning and interim Head of Secondary to support our leadership team at the school.

With over 15 years of experience in the Education industry in the Middle East, Daspo is an accomplished international educator with vast school improvement skills. Previously, she was the Director of Education at BEAM schools, a group of 6 international schools in the UAE.

She has also led inspections for the KHDA during the last 4 years. Daspo is a visionary leader and strategic advisor who has proven her expertise in teaching, learning, school transformation, strategic planning, leadership coaching, learning observation, academic feedback and evaluation along with improvement planning. These combined areas of expertise are in line with Nibras’ objective of academic improvement and have made Daspo a precious asset for the school.

Ms. Willacey has joined Nibras International School’s Senior Leadership Team as the new Head of Secondary at Nibras International School for the 2020 -2021 Academic Year .

Ms. Willacey Debra has more than 10 years of teaching experience in Elementary , Middle and High School settings. Additionally, she has more than 6 years of experience in Educational Leadership at the school, state and country levels in the United States and Dubai.

Ms. Willacey is an exemplary educator and a fine senior leader. She is passionate, innovative and highly motivated, who feels strongly about supporting student growth and progress. She will work collaboratively with the leadership team at NIS to help enhance the secondary offering at the school, ensuring that our students continue to gain acceptance to some of the best universities and colleges in the world.

Ms. Willacey has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership.

Finance and Administration Manager

Tracey joined Nibras International School in April 2020 as the Finance and Administration Manager.

Originally from a manufacturing background, where she worked in many national and multinational companies, including Rolls Royce Aerospace, British Nuclear Fuels and Alexander Dennis (Transbus), Tracey has worked with ISP for four years.

She has previously been the Finance and Administration Manager at Park House English School in Qatar, and also took on the same role at the Hamilton International School when it opened.

Tracey is from Scotland, where she gained her CIMA qualification (Certified Institute of Management Accounts).

Katrin Squier

Katrin Squier

Human Resources

Katrin joined the Nibras International School team in April 2020.

She has worked with ISP since 2019 where she joined the regional team as an Office Manager.

She is an experienced administrator, skilled at financial management and reporting. Furthermore, she possesses a strong acumen when it comes to talent management and corporate recruitment.

Katrin’s work will be fortified with her characteristics of reliability, service orientation and organisation skills.
