Choosing a major and a university is one of the most important decisions a student has to make. To guide our high school students with their choices, Nibras International School recently hosted a University Fair featuring 26 Universities and Colleges.
Murdoch University Dubai, Curtin University Dubai, Heriot-Watt University Dubai, American University Dubai, University of Wollongong in Dubai, Zayed University, Sorbonne University, City University Ajman, University of Sharjah, and RIT Dubai were among the universities that joined the fair.
Mr. Erik Rivera, the Secondary Dean of Students, encouraged the high school students to take advantage of the first NIS University Fair this academic year. During the orientation, he expressed the importance of preparing adequately for university applications.
“The University Fair is an opportunity to talk to university representatives and ask them questions about requirements, application process, and course offerings to help you prepare and decide for the future,” he said.
High School students expressed gratitude for the opportunity to allow them to think of their options as
early as now.
“Seeing as my high school life is quite close to its end, it was great that NIS provided this fair. The fair really gave me ideas on which universities are best to aim for in the future in connection to the careers that I wish to pursue,” Cynthia A., a Grade 11 student shared.
Parents also benefited from the experience as they and their children gained valuable insights that would help them make informed decisions.
“Having several universities gather in one place in school was helpful. It answered all the complicated questions that me and my parents had and it opened our eyes on some points that we didn’t know and didn’t notice at first,” Omar I., another Grade 11 student said.
