We are incredibly proud to share that our Nibras International School community has raised an impressive AED 23,700 for the Al Jalila Foundation’s cancer research and awareness initiatives. This is the third year that our community has come together to fundraise and donate to this important cause. This continues to be a testament to the dedication and generosity of our students, families, and staff. It really highlights our commitment to caring for others, a core TORCH value here at Nibras.
Student Leadership at its Finest:
Our High School and Elementary Student Councils, along with a group of exceptional Grade 12 students, spearheaded this fantastic achievement. They were even invited to the Al Jalila Foundation to present the donation, giving them a firsthand look at the Foundation’s crucial work and the impact of their fundraising efforts.
“Visiting the Al Jalila Foundation was a truly inspiring experience,” shared Reine, a 17-year-old student. “Seeing the passion and dedication of the staff there, and knowing how our contributions will make a difference, was really moving.”
Pink-themed Fun for a Serious Cause:
Throughout October, the school was a hub of activity. Our Pink Market, organized by the high school students, was a definite highlight. With pink treats, games, and activities, it was a fun way for the whole community to come together and support a vital cause.
Our younger students also played a key role with the Elementary Student Council’s “A Dirham for a Cause” campaign, raising awareness and collecting donations in classrooms.
All these events were a great opportunity to really bring to life the idea behind the Year of Community, that has been declared. They were all activities that brought our community together in a collaborative way, connecting with an important cause.
Empowering Future Leaders:
“This success is a direct result of the hard work and leadership of our student councils,” said Ms. Amena Saleem, School Counselor and High School Student Council Supervisor. “We’re so proud of their initiative, and with the guidance of Ms. Hannelie Cranko, Ms. Rachael Charles, and Ms. Riham Ali, their ideas were able to flourish.”
Nurturing Compassionate Global Citizens:
“At Nibras, we prioritize the wellbeing of our community,” says Dr. Jay Teston, Principal of Nibras International School. “We believe in developing empathetic young people who are passionate about making a positive impact. Our TORCH values – tolerant, organized, respectful, caring, and honest – guide our approach. And as an iSP school, we’re dedicated to equipping our students with the skills they need to succeed in all aspects of their lives.”
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed! Your support has truly ignited the TORCH of Caring within our community.
