Our students have shown their amazing spelling skills in the first ISP Arabic Spelling Bee. The competition was launched in order to celebrate the beauty of the Arabic language and encourage our students to practice their spelling skills.
The NIS students from Grade 1 to Grade 8 who participated in the competition were all able to spell the selected Arabic words. Our teachers recognized the most successful students at our school and awarded them the plaques for the first place in their grade level.
Congratulations to our students who won the grade level awards in the first ISP Arabic Spelling Bee!
For each of the rounds, students were challenged to learn an age-appropriate list of words linked to the Arabic curriculum. Parents were encouraged to get involved by helping their child prepare for the in-person and digital rounds of the competition.
In the final round of the competition, our selected students from Grade 1 to Grade 8 went on to compete with students of their grade level, from other ISP schools in the Middle East.
We are proud to share that two of our students received recognition in the regional competition. Congratulations to Mirolla who placed third in the Grade 5 level category, and to Nada who also placed third in the Grade 7 level category. Nada also received special recognition when she won the Director of Learning’s Special Award for Arabic.
To talk about the importance of this initiative Abigail Fishbourne, School Improvement Partner, ISP Middle East said, “Arabic language learning is an important part of the curriculum in all our schools, hence we launched the ISP Arabic Spelling Bee to encourage our students to enhance their language knowledge. The competition was fierce, and I am in awe of the winners who showed a mastery of the language, a commitment to the subject and a maturity to enter the competition”.
We are proud of all our Arabic students at NIS, and we celebrate their dedication, their commitment to the challenge, and their passion for the Arabic language.
