NIS provides real and relevant learning opportunities to fully prepare students for their future.

As part of the International Schools Partnership, we are able to offer our high school students some amazing leadership opportunities, for example:

Model United Nations

Model United Nations is an educational simulation in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations.

Virtual International Conference for MUN Students

Given the current global situation, Nibras International School has launched one of the first virtual events for the MUN.  Titled “Creating Unified Resolutions for All” or CURA the International Virtual Conference will be hosted by NIS in May 2020.

With students taking on the role of delegates from the ‘World Health Organisation’ committee and ‘World Economic Forum’ committee to discuss the identified topics, the conference will have students from a few ISP Schools from around the world participating. The second virtual Nibras International School Model United Nations (MUN) conference with the topic – ‘UA50E’ took place in November 2020. NIS students, along with the students from our sister school Reach British School, enjoyed a day full of debate and conversations. Three committee sessions allow students to practice their public speaking skills, strengthen their leadership skills, as well as develop a strong understanding of the role they have in the local and global community.

ISP Model United Nations 

Our students took part in the ISP Virtual Model United Nations Conference. This was an opportunity for students from different ISP schools around the world to experience an educational, virtual simulation of a real UN Conference.

NIS students showed remarkable skills and impressed their committees – five out of eight NIS delegates won awards proving their excellence! Read more about NIS joining the ISP MUN program here.

Future Global Leaders Conference

The Future Global Leaders Conference is a debate and diplomacy conference offering students aged 13-17 the opportunity to come together to debate some of our society’s most pressing issues.

The topics of debate – such as creating an equitable education, combating climate change, redressing historical racial injustices, ensuring digital privacy, or addressing the gender pay-gap – are diverse, significant, global, and complex.

A truly international event, delegates come from five different continents, and different and diverse cultures, viewpoints and thought processes. To show our commitment to inclusion, every committee is chaired by individuals that are fluent in Arabic and French in addition to English.

(Virtual) Buddy Exchange Programme

The ISP Buddy Exchange Programme will enable reciprocal exchanges between ISP schools for a period of one month for students aged between 14 – 17 years of age. It is an experience that promises to offer students amazing and diverse learning opportunities within a safe and secure environment. Due to the current situation, students participate in an 8-week programme of weekly video calls of 45 minutes with a student from another ISP school.

The programme will deliver a unique international and cultural learning experience; enabling students to develop their language skills, share good practice and cultivate long-term friendships across the world.

University, Career Guidance & Future Choices

Career, college, social and emotional counseling services have been significantly expanded at NIS Dubai, and we will continue to open as many doors as possible for our Grade 12 students.

Through our partnerships with American University In Dubai (AUD), SAE Institute, American University of Sharjah (AUS), The University of Dubai (UD), Ajman University (AU) and Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai (RIT Dubai), we ensure our students are at the forefront of scholarship opportunities in every subject.

Student Council

A group of students from different grades is elected by peers to address issues, organize events and activities, as well as advocate for their peers. It allows students to demonstrate their creativity, develop critical thinking and team-building skills, explore their passions and work on their individual leadership styles.
