For KG, we have an informal individual or group assessment to identify the child’s ability and English language competency. This enables us to place them in the most suitable class. It also means we can suggest appropriate preparation before starting school.
The session will give you the opportunity to see the facilities, meet teachers, and ask any questions you may have. While the child is being assessed, we will organise a school tour for the parents, so you can view the facilities and see a typical school day at NIS.
For elementary, middle and high stages, we use the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) online exam. MAP is a computerized test which helps teachers, parents and administrators improve learning for all students and make informed decisions to promote a child’s academic growth. For the students who are below the level, parents have to sign a letter to ensure additional support for the subject identified.
Admissions Assessments are conducted every Wednesday at 10.30 am-2:00pm for KG and elementary, and 2.00pm-4.00 pm for middle and high school. We are also available to conduct assessments on other days of the week with prior appointment. A non-refundable assessment fee of AED 500 is required.
